The oral translation of what is said in one language into another, so that speakers of different languages can communicate

Interpretation services are available on a first-come, first-served basis depending on resources available. The Translations Unit offers both simultaneous and consecutive interpreting and will be responsible for determining the most appropriate technique for your meeting. It is extremely important that you plan ahead and submit your meeting request(s) through our website www.translationsunit.com with as much advance notice as possible.

In addition to an in-house staff of Spanish, Korean, Chinese and Armenian, we also provide sign language interpretation.

To request interpretation services, please complete and submit an Interpretation Request Form. Once you submit the request form, you will receive a confirmation number that you can utilize to check the status of your service request either by phone or our website. After submitting your request, you will be notified by e-mail if we will be able to accommodate your request.

Changes/Cancellations

If there are any changes in the location or starting/ending time of the meeting, or if the meeting has been cancelled, please notify the Translations Unit immediately.

Your cancellations are critical as it gives us an opportunity to re-assign staff to locations where services are not being provided.

Conferences

If you are planning a conference with workshops, please indicate, on the request form, the number of workshops and submit a copy of the agenda or program for the workshops. This will help us better prepare ourselves in order to provide the service you need. In addition, please note that graduation ceremonies are only covered if staff is available and if there are no other meetings taking place during the time of the graduation.
